Introduction
The CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK ASSOCIATES listed in this Directory hold a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSWs) and are currently working toward becoming licensed.
This is the pre-licensure program.
CSWAs have annual renewals.
Certificates expire on the last day of the person's birth month and lapse 30 days later if not renewed.
Once all licensing requirements are completed, CSWAs are eligible to take the national exam and become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
The LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKERS listed in this Directory are identified as Active, Inactive, Lapsed, or Revoked.
Active LCSWs are currently practicing and are eligible for all privileges of the license.
Inactive LCSWs are able to retain their license while not practicing clinical social work.
They are generally retired, attending to rasing a family, dealing with a serious medical problem, on sabbatical, living out of state, or just not practicing clinical social work. Inactive LCSWs are not required to obtain continuing education if they agree to not use the LCSW title while on Inactive Status.
The Inactive LCSW must still renew their license on an annual basis.
